who are we?
Ventana Azul is a project made by surfers and travellers! We are hosting backpackers and oudoor lovers of all ages on Gran Canaria since 12 years!
We are located in the young surfers "barrio" of Guanarteme right in the heart of Las Palmas and on the shore of the legendary Las Canteras Beach.
Thanks to our privileged location you will be able to watch the surfers from our rooftop, enjoy international bars & restaurants, go shopping or just chill at the beach.
Our international and friendly team can connect with you in spanish, german, french & english.
After 12 succesful years as a hostel and taking in account the moment we are living as ruman race right now, we also want to to our part to fight against globalization and climate change.
Thats why we created our new eco-project Ventana Verde.

Selma
hostel star & cat
Selma is our princess of the house. Thats the official story. But insiders know that she is the real boss of the hostel. In the morning you will find her doing her crazy dances, during the day she does her siesta and in the night she will watch you and listen secretly to the crazy stories you tell to other guests. If you want a discount, also ask her 🙂

Thomas is living on Gran Canaria since 2006. After a personal crisis he founded Ventana Azul Hostel back in 2012, and since then this hostel is already a part of the Surfcity Las Palmas. He is also the creator of the Sister project Ventana Verde, which is a 5000m2 organic farm with a reforestation project. Apart from continuing to improove the hostel he is now mainly focused on fighting against climate change and giving back something to Gran Canaria, the island that has treated him and his dreams so well!

Meet Paul, our passionate hostel manager, who brings the island lifestyle to life at La Ventana Azul. Hailing from a small island in France called Oléron, Paul has the ocean in his veins and a surfboard always nearby. A true surf addict, you'll often catch him in a wetsuit, behind reception, or whipping up tacos on the rooftop. Paul's laid-back vibe ensures you'll have an unforgettable stay, and he's always around to make sure you have everything you need. Whether it's a surf tip or a local recommendation, Paul's got you covered!
