⚠️ Safety: Currents & Rocks
- The Rocks: While it’s a sandy beach, there are hidden rocky areas (especially at low tide).
- The Currents: They can be tricky and pull you towards the Auditorium.
- Pro Tip: Before heading out, ask for a briefing at the reception. We will show you exactly where the rocks are and how to navigate the currents.
Understanding the Tides 📈
- The Tides: For beginners, mid-tide (incoming) is often the sweet spot. It provides softer waves and enough water depth.
- The Current: At La Cicer, there’s often a current pushing you to the left (towards the Auditorium). Don’t panic! If you drift too far, just hop out, walk back up the beach in front of the hostel, and paddle back out. It’s the classic “Canarian Workout”!
- Pro Tip: Always ask our staff or the locals before heading out; they’ll let you know if the conditions are right for your level.
How to choose your board?🏄
- Beginners: Go for a Softboard (foamie). They are stable, float well, and are much safer.
- Intermediates: A Minimalibu (7.0 to 8.0) is the best choice to start practicing your turns.
- Pros: Shortboards are for those who can already duck-dive.
